CWAHD.com was designed to assist dads in their quest for a work at home
job or business. The idea for this website actually came from my wife.
Since the creation of her website for Christian Work at Home Moms,
,
we have seen the need for a place that dads can research work at home
positions, network with one another and help one another in their spiritual
walks. We offer
The end of 2007, and I have never blogged before. Well, I suppose that late is better than never. It kind of reminds me when I got my first computer, a Trash-80 (or for those of you who don’t remember, that’s the nickname for the Radio Shack model TRS-80). My friends knew so much about computers and I felt like I was behind the times. I still remember spending $1,200 for the computer that did not even have a hard drive and another $800 for the software. I had thought about buying an IBM compatible at the time, but one of my best friends at the time recommended the Radio Shack version. Later on, people were
trying to sell these computers in the Atlanta Advertiser for $35. (I don’t see much of that friend anymore.)

1) Know the facts: The average Thanksgiving meal contains more calories than the average American needs in an entire day (for many, it’s almost double the amount they need in a day), and can contain the amount of fat grams required for an entire week (source: The American Council on Exercise: 229 grams of fat). The average American gains 7-10 pounds over the entire holiday season (source: CNN). Don’t be a statistic! Think you are just going for a family holiday? Nope!! You are going into battle. Be prepared. This is a mental-emotional battle, so be on guard and remain proactive.

What does the word "diet" say to you? Does it
conjure up pain and hardship involving a loss of so much you enjoy? Does
the very word make you go cold? Well if it does you are not alone. Most
people talk about their diet as if it is some kind of penance to be endured.
But there is a different way of looking at it. Instead of thinking about
the things you see yourself giving up - which equates to the hardship
- why not try to think about what you will gain.

The word "diet" probably brings to mind meals
of lettuce and cottage cheese or constant hunger. By definition, "diet"

entirely to promote weight loss may not be effective over the long term.
You are likely to miss certain foods, find it difficult to follow this
type of diet for a long time, and more importantly the complete elimination

day and what you eat play a major role in how much you weigh. So, when
planning your diet, you should consider:

not just talking will-power, actually something much easier.
Most of your
weight loss help is going to come in the form of changed thinking.
Much of the time we seem to spend telling ourselves what we shouldn’t
do, yet the more we tell ourselves these things, the more we seem to do
them. It’s as if what we resist most, persists longest. When we feel as
if we’ve got no willpower what do we do? We confirm that this is
the case by going on to eat that slice of cake just to comfort ourselves.
It’s no surprise then that the real battle is with that negative self-talk.
